Road
accidents are still
generating numerous
casualties in our
country. As infrastructure
operators and although
their network is
the safest one,
toll motorway concessionaire
companies are committed
to fight this calamity.
As
a proof of it, ASETA
has signed the European
Road Safety Charter,
promoted by the
Directorate-General
for Energy and Transports
of the European
Commission that
seeks an ambitious
target: halving
the number of road
deaths by 2010.
|

|
By
signing this Charter,
ASETA assumed the
following commitments:
|
 |
Promote the deployment
of ETC lanes in all
Spanish toll roads
to exceed 1,000 lanes
by 2005. This type
of lane is safer since
it limits the activity
of the user when paying
the toll, allowing
him to concentrate
exclusively in driving.
|
 |
Coordinate activities,
through a committee
of experts established
at ASETA, in order
to increase road safety
on the Spanish toll
motorway network.
|
 |
Gather and disseminate
statistics on road
accidents on the Spanish
toll network.
|
 |
Include safety statistical
data in ASETA’s
and ASECAP´s
annual publications
(leaflets, brochures).
|
 |
Promote activities
in favor of Road Safety
in different events
and congresses in
which ASETA participates:
UIMP
, ASECAP, IBTTA.
